One hundred and thirty (130) students from prep to grade 6 will start classes at the temporary Dunalley Primary School site on Wednesday 13 February with kindergarten students commencing on Thursday 14 February.Department of Education Deputy Secretary, Andrew Finch, said that understandably, there has been significant interest in the new temporary school.
"However, now that the temporary school is nearing completion our focus needs to be on ensuring that students and teachers start their learning program for the year without disruption.
"It's important that students are able to settle into their new surroundings and establish a normal routine for the school day.
"Therefore, the media will be welcome to visit the school on the third day of school (Friday 15 February), when they will have an opportunity to tour the school and speak to students and the principal," Mr Finch said.
Friday 15 February
10.45am (recess time) - opportunity to film/photograph students in the playground.
11am - internal tour of the school, followed by interviews with students and Principal, Matthew Kenny.
Dunalley Primary temporary school site. Media access is via 20 Bay St, Dunalley (Please report to the front office on arrival).
